The meeting of the Group was held at Worksop Town Hall on the 15th March.

 

Michelle le Calvez, Marketing and Development Officer of Bassetlaw District Council, gave an update on progress at the Robin Hood Airport. The airport is due to become operational on the 28th April. A copy of Michelle's presentation is attached.

 

It was disappointing to see such a small attendance at the meeting and I would appreciate some feedback to help plan future meetings. I forgot to send out a reminder just prior to the meeting, for which I apologise. This may be a contributory factor.

If the timing of the meeting was a problem please let me know. We did agree to alternate meetings between afternoon and evening, as we appreciate that not everybody can make each meeting. However, if there is a majority preference for a specific time we will try to accommodate this.

 

Please also let me know if there is a specific topic of interest to tourism related businesses, on which we can invite a speaker to our meetings. Suggestions to date include The Disability Descrimination Act and " the basics of getting started with e-mail and the internet".

 

Following Michelle's presentation there was a period of general discussion. Rachel Stewart of Experience Nottinghamshire listened to members concerns regarding the pricing structure of membership and agreed to pass on the comments received.

 

It was good to see members having time to talk and we will try to incorporate this into future meetings.

 

The date of the next meeting is Tuesday 17th May. I will await your feedback on timing before trying to secure a venue and fixing the time.
