Nottinghamshire Tourism Website Receives 1,000,000 hits

The North Nottinghamshire Tourist Association website since launch in 2005, has attracted over 1,000,000 hits with double the number of visitors to the Website in the last year. This has generated business for members whilst advertising the area to prospective visitors.

Over £68 Billion is spent by UK residents holidaying in the UK. Statistically Nottinghamshire does well with more weekend visitors than any other County as a result of our ideal central UK location for the growing trend in ‘weekenders’. Unfortunately many hit the high spots of Nottingham City, The ‘Great Oak’ at Sherwood Forest or Centre Parcs and make it no further to discover more of the delights of our County.

The North Nottinghamshire Tourist Association is an independent body of Tourism related businesses whose aim is to attract Tourists into the area. ‘We are very pleased that since launch the site has made a positive contribution to our members businesses’ said Chris Daniels, Club Chairman.

Chris recently took over from Geoff Ruffell, who chaired the Club for the last 3 years.

The Club holds a regular program of meetings with informative speakers on diverse topics, information on progress with Tourist activities in the region and an opportunity to network with complimentary businesses.

The next meeting, on the development of Tourism in Retford and Worksop, with Russell Slater as Speaker, is to be held at The Clumber Park Hotel on Tuesday September 25th at 7.30pm. All are welcome. Please contact Chris on 01777 702206.
